NTN-SNR ROULEMENTS – a European branch of the NTN Japanese Group – designs, develops, manufactures, and sells bearings and linear modules for industry, automobile and aeronautics markets. The company – the third largest bearing manufacturers in the world – also undertakes services and trainings for its customers and distributors in Europe and beyond. NTN-SNR Roulements leans on its 11 factories located in Europe and South America.

Teamwork is a historic partner of NTN-SNR especially on projects linked to SAP. When we thought about leading a Business Transformation on the ‘Manufacturing’ perimeter, it seemed obvious to work together.

Context and challenges

NTN-SNR’s Information System relies on SAP for most of its subsidiaries and for the trade perimeters, business and customer logistics at the headquarters. The other functions of the headquarters are performed by NTN-SNR’s historic Mainframe, especially production.

The mission hinged on two key challenges:

Proving the Business Transformation’ value with SAP on the one hand SAP for the planning of production, and a Manufacturing Execution System following up the execution of the production, traceability and performance. The mission has enabled to enhance key business value, has illustrated it thanks to NTN-SNR use cases and has assessed the necessary effort to achieve this major change.

Defining the boundaries between ERP and MES.

Teamwork has lead this mission with the expertise, professionalism and commitment that characterize the company, for the entire satisfaction of NTN-SNR.
